Annual
Report
Arlington police officers Bernadette Rankin and Cliff Clary were running one night in River Legacy Park when they found their first dog, Charlie-the-Wookie. He had fleas, heartworms, and was shaved almost bald. After six months of vet care, Charlie was given a clean bill of health and really disliked vets in general. Less than a year later, Cliff found Zoey the husky wandering lost around the Arlington ballpark. She was malnourished, flea bitten, and, after some research, her microchip revealed she had been through three homes and three shelters in under three years. Understandably, Zoey had some issues. George came next – he’s a big galoot of a black lab who had been hit by a car in Fort Worth, where our dynamic duo found him.
At this point, the local animal problem was becoming clear and George became the first actual adoption story. He now has a wonderful home (with a pool!) and people he adores. (Hi, Randy and Linda! Thanks again!) .
